Percy announces candidacy for Fourth Judicial Circuit

Magistrate Judge Michelle K. Percy has announced her intent for candidacy for Circuit Court Judge for the Fourth Judicial Circuit.  The Fourth Circuit is comprised of Lawrence, Butte, Meade, Corson, Dewey, Harding, Perkins and Ziebach Counties.

Magistrate Judge Michelle K. Percy, 46, has served the Fourth Circuit for the past eight years.  She was born and raised in the Lead Deadwood area. 

After graduation from law school, Judge Percy served as a law clerk for the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court in Rapid City.  Upon completion of her clerkship she served as Deputy States Attorney in Lawrence County.  In 1996, she became an associate with the law firm Fuller, Tellinghuisen, Gordon and Eckrich.  In 2000 she became a partner with this firm having offices in Lead and Spearfish, South Dakota.  In February of 2006, she was appointed by the Honorable Presiding Judge Warren G. Johnson and confirmed by the South Dakota Supreme Court as a Magistrate Judge for the Fourth Circuit.  She has served two terms in this position.
