Visitors brave the cold to see Mount Rushmore

The frigid cold wasn't enough to keep some visitors from Mount Rushmore Sunday. Many out of town visitors stuck to their plans to visit the memorial this weekend despite the cold weather.

Like Shaine Perry and Jess Forster who are visiting from North Dakota. They say are used to the cold and wanted to see the monument before they left. "We just decided to get away from North Dakota for the weekend and he wanted to ski at Terry Peak," said Forster. "I wanted to hang out in Deadwood and decided we would make the trip here because it wasn't too far."

It was Perry's first time at the monument. "I've acclimated super fast in the cold, it's weird that we're having this conversation because in North Dakota everyday is just terrible, the cold doesn't affect us I guess," said Perry.

There were other visitors at the monument from cold regions like Minnesota.
