St. Jude's Radiothon kicks off 4th year

For four years running, Duhamel Broadcasting has partnered with St. Jude Children's Hospital to raise money to care for the sickest of the sick.

Wednesday and Thursday, Q92.3, She106.3, Eagle Country, and X-Rock are holding the annual Black Hills Cares for Kids Radiothon.

The radiothon has raised more than $160,000 in its history for St. Jude's, a children's hospital located in Memphis, TN. The hospital treats patients from all 50 states, and more than 70 countries.

Station personalities will share stories about St Jude's mission: to perform medical research and care for sick children ... Including many local families.

"The unique thing about St. Jude is that no family pays for anything. That includes their medical treatment while they're at the hospital, their food, their lodging, their travel expenses to get to the hospital. No family pays for anything. And that's because of events like this that happen across the country," said Katy Sunnaborg from St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

Organizers hope to beat last year's total of $53,000.

The radiothon runs 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. The number to call to donate is 1-800-455-9196.
