Many city workers in KOTA Territory are logging long overtime hours to clear all this fresh snow off the streets.
The early start to winter and the recent heavy snowfall have led Sheridan Public Works to already go over its snow removal budget of $228,000. The city council agreed to set aside another $175,000 for snow removal last week.
The city's public works director says the heavy snowfall is not the only reason the department has already used up its budget.
"We've had several 20 below zero events, which brings a whole new element to our snow removal effort and the amount of ice-slicer that we need to throw out into the streets," said public works director Nic Bateson.
Bateson says the additional funds should cover three more snow filled months.
