KOTA Territory businesses got to show off their gadgets and hard work at the Black Hills Business Development Center's open house Wednesday.

Terri Haverly, Executive Director of the Black Hills Business Development Center, said companies spend up to five years in "incubators" as they grow into the local economy.

More than 330 businesses have come out of the incubators since they started in 2006. With Caterpillar moving out, the center has an additional 5,000 square feet.

"In the last part of 2013 and the early part of 2014, we've had several new companies that have applied and were accepted into the incubator. We just thought it was time to open up and let people see the varied companies that are really here," said Haverly.

Haverly said Caterpillar was the Business Development Center's first to "graduate."
