Bond is reduced for a KOTA Territory man accused of seriously injuring and nearly killing a baby. Seventh Circuit Judge Robert Gusinsky dropped Austin Ehns, 26, bond from $500,000 to $150,000.
Chief Deputy State's Attorney Lara Roetzel was not opposed to a bond reduction, mostly because the 15-month-old boy who was injured is now expected to live. That was not the case a few weeks ago. Roetzel told the court she assumed this would be a homicide case.
If Ehns is able to make bond, he is required to live with his parents. He is facing charges of infant battery for allegedly hitting the toddler after he threw up on him. Ehns was in a relationship with the boy's mother.
