Rapid City police arrest school burglary suspect

Posted:

Last Friday police arrested Timothy Roberts, 33, after he brought a stolen computer to a local business to have the password reconfigured.

Working together with the business, detectives learned the computer in question had been stolen during a burglary to a school this month.

Roberts was later charged with one count of 3rd Degree Burglary, one count of 3rd Degree Burglary to a car wash, one count of Destruction of Private Property to another car wash, one count of Theft and Destruction of Private Property to yet another car wash, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, and a Parole Violation charge out of Colorado.

Detectives are continuing to investigate Roberts involvement this week.

The Rapid City Police Department would like to remind the public that it is against state law to receive, retain, or dispose of any property believed to have been stolen.
