Hubbard Feeds cattle judging at Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo - KOTA Territory News

Judges rank top bull and female at Black Hills Stock Show

Cattle are asked to do a lot during the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo, but Saturday they just had to look good.
Since 1986, Hubbard Feeds has honored the overall bull and female of the entire stock show.

Heifers started off the competition and the bulls came in after. Each animal was led around the ring - showing off for the judges.

Supreme bull and female consignors are awarded $3,000 and buyers are awarded $2,000. But it's about more than just the money, as Kadee Hande, livestock coordinator, says it's really hard to be the best. "You get bragging rights," said Hande. "Because not only are you the best, you're better than 300 cattle that came out to the Stock Show."
Judging began at 5:30 and champions were named at 7:00.
