Rapid City furniture store hosts sale to benefit ranchers

The Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo means big business in Rapid City for restaurants, hotels, dealerships and more.

So, a furniture store is using the increased foot traffic to raise money for a good cause.

Freed's Fine Furnishing is holding a "Rancher's Relief Sale" now through February 8th, where 5% percent of every sale will go to the rancher relief fund.

Owner Ka Alberts, who has an agriculture background says he understands and sympathizes with the difficulties many in the ag community are faced with following the October blizzard, "Our goal here is to just give something back to the ag community. The economy of Rapid City is really dependent upon our rural ag trade and we just think this is an opportunity to help them recoup some of the losses that they sustained during the blizzard."

Alberts says the goal is to raise at least $5000 for the Rancher Relief Fund.
