Eighth graders at North Middle School receive a 'Reality Check'

A group of eighth grade students from North Middle School got a lesson in budgeting and making financial choices Wednesday.

Reality Check is a program sponsored by both Partnership Rapid City and G.E. Capital. The idea is to give students a little perspective on adult life and choices. Students fill out salary cards, life event cards, and budget sheets, all in an effort to learn the advantages of responsible budgeting.

"Well it's really good, because it gives us practice on what we are going to be doing when we grow up and get older. So, we are going to have a better perspective on how life is going to be when we get a lot older in life," said Karlee Dubray.

This is the second year for the Reality Check program.
