Rapid City Police still searching for suspect in assault case

The Rapid City Police Department is continuing the investigation into the assault that occurred on August 21st, 2013, around 3:30 p.m. at 1720 N. 7th Street.

The apartment was entered by force and a female resident was physically assaulted receiving significant head injuries. During the assault, the male suspect was confronted by a maintenance employee, whom the suspect assaulted as well.

The male suspect fled in a turquoise or bluish green colored four door vehicle. The suspect is described as having a light complexion, mid to late 20's, 5'8" to 6', thin to medium build, short dark hair with a short beard or goatee, tattoos on both arms, and said to be wearing a dark
colored t-shirt and jeans.

The Community Reward Fund is offering a $2,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the suspect responsible for this assault.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Sgt. Dale McCabe at 394-4134. The public may also submit anonymous tips by texting 'RCPD' and the info to 847411, or online at http://www.rapidcitypolice.org.

The Community Reward Fund was established in 1992, to seek information in the stabbing death of Donnivan Shaeffer. The fund continues to operate with donations provided by community businesses and organizations.
