Posted:

A trial date is set for a Rapid City man who was shot by a State Highway Patrol trooper after a chase on Interstate 90.

William Chandler, 27, is accused of leading officers on a chase after a Highway Patrol trooper tried to pull him over in September. He was arrested but escaped and stole a squad car.

He has several charges against him, including aggravated assault, aggravated eluding, and first degree escape.

Wednesday afternoon Judge Janine Kern scheduled a two day trial to begin March 6th. If convicted on all charges, Chandler could face up to 150 years in prison.
