The restoration of a courtroom in the Pennington County Courthouse is complete.
It began as a simple carpet replacement and paint job in Courtroom Two. But Presiding Judge Jeff Davis wanted to take it further. So, over the last year, crews have restored the courtroom to its original look.
The on–site building crew worked in their spare time on the restoration, which included doing research on the history of the courtroom.
"It took some time and some special talents to learn how to remold some of the plaster and come up with the right paint colors and it's a great outcome." said Davis. "And I'm tickled to have it to use for a court room here on the seventh circuit."
The Pennington County Courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historical Places.
