yVolunteers in Rapid City continued the dream of Martin Luther King Junior Monday by giving up their time for others.
Black Hills Works hosted a day of fun, fitness, and learning for those with certain disabilities.
The day included physical activities such as basketball, mini-golf, bowling, and dancing.
Health and educational activities were also available thanks to around 20 volunteers who made the day possible.
AmeriCorps Vista volunteer, Bekah Taylor, helped organize the event and says turnout was much better than past years and it couldn't have been done without everyone who helped.
"This is a great way to get the community together," said Taylor. "We really want to encourage health and fitness that's a really important thing so we really want to focus on that this year."
Volunteers say MLK Day is one of AmeriCorps nationally organized service days they have each year.
