High winds to blame for many accidents across SD

The wind whipped through Kota Territory all day Thursday and for people on the roads it was pretty dangerous.

One semi turned over just east of Murdo, luckily nobody was injured in that specific accident.

State officials did caution travelers to be careful out on the roads especially those driving semis.

Multiple accidents were reported on Interstates 90 and 29. One crash involved more than 20 vehicles near Humbolt. Initial reports indicated some injuries, but no fatalities in the crashes. Authorities will open that road back up once everything is clear.

If you're wondering how fast the winds were blowing, we had sustained winds at 30 to 45 mph with gusts of 60 to 65 mph.
