A mechanical problem is believed to be the cause of a dump truck crashing into the side of a home in Rapid City Thursday afternoon.
Crews were dispatched to Sitka Street where they found a dump truck that had rolled down the street colliding with a parked vehicle and home.
The force from the collision knocked the home off its foundation and even shattered windows in the rear of the structure. The car parked out front was totaled, and a power utility box out in front of the home was also destroyed.
The residents were in the home at the time of the collision, but no one was hurt. The accident is still under investigation at this time.
