Feeding South Dakota successfully matches a challenge grant, pushing the organization closer to its fundraising goal.
The John T. Vucurevich foundation gave Feeding South Dakota a $500,000 challenge grant, which the organization matched by December 31.
Now, Feeding South Dakota is just $55,000 shy of its $2 million goal in Rapid City.
Kerri DeGraff, development director, says the organization is trying to build support to raise the last bit needed. "We've been humbled by the support received so far, and the fact that we're so close to our goal is very exciting, and we're hopeful there will be one last push to reach our goal of $2 million," said DeGraff.
The $2 million goal covers the cost of Feeding South Dakota's new facility - which was expanded to be able to feed more people.
Our KOTA Care and Share food drive contributed around $47,000 to the cause.
