Wednesday, Republican Congresswoman Kristi Noem told reporters that she's hopeful the Farm Bill will be done this month. She says the House and Senate are hung up on how the dairy program should be structured, but other than that it's moving along.
"A lot of people have encouraged me to hurry up and get a farm bill done and we're trying to do that but we do want to make sure that the farm bill is right and that it's good policy," Representative Noem said.
Noem says this bill has more reform than we've seen in a Farm Bill in decades.
Also, Noem talked recently about putting people back to work. She says if we want to give our young people a shot at the American dream, it's not going to be through a welfare program or a government-run program, but through a job.
Noem says Republican run states have the right idea, and that the proof is in the numbers. South Dakota's unemployment rate is 3.7 percent.
