KOTA Territory said goodbye to a very influential woman who affected the lives of so many people in the area.
After a courageous battle with lymphoma, Evelyn Kelly lost her fight at the age of 68 on January 8th.
She was laid to rest Tuesday at Mountain View Cemetery.
The mother of three and grandmother of nine served as Co–Pastor of Faith Temple Church of God with her husband Bishop Lorenzo Kelly.
Throughout her life, "Lady Evelyn" held a number of leadership roles in the community including the Crisis Pregnancy Center, Habitat for Humanity, as a hospice volunteer, as well as teaching life skills to female inmates at the Pennington County Jail.
In honor of Kelly, Mayor Sam Kooiker proclaimed January 14th as Evelyn Kelly Day in Rapid City.
