A Rapid City man faces life in prison for allegedly raping a nine year old.
Tuesday morning, 26-year-old Blake Klynsma pled not guilty to rape charges in Seventh Circuit Court. He is charged with first degree rape, which carries a life sentence. He faces additional charges of third degree rape, which carries up to 15 years in prison.
The alleged rape first happened in January of 2004, when the victim was nine years old. Klynsma was convicted of attempted third degree rape in 2011 but only served local jail time.
Klynsma is currently being held on $50,000 bond.
