Posted:

A Pine Ridge man wanted for more than five years on rape charges was arraigned Monday in Rapid City.

Twenty-three-year-old James Ladeaux pled not guilty to two counts of first-degree rape, two counts of attempted rape and one count of sexual contact with a minor.

The alleged incidents occurred with an eight-year-old boy in 2008.

He was arrested in December after being stopped at a sobriety checkpoint.

Ledeaux faces a minimum of 15 years on each count and could potentially get a life sentence.

Ledeaux remains in custody in the Pennington County Jail on $100,000 bond.
