Planning for Next Christmas

Posted:

Most of us have probably already opened our Christmas gifts, but now it's about time to open those Christmas bills.

As the year comes to a close, it is a good time to create a holiday spending plan for next year.

So, when Christmas shopping, it is very important to keep a physical inventory of what you buy.

This includes all bills and receipts, including food and travel expenses, Education and Community Outreach Manager Terry Mills says, "Christmas is a periodic expense, it only happens once a year. You want to take money out every month for Christmas. The average family will spend about $500. That is about $10 a week."

Mills also says when you add those Christmas bills with expensive heating bills and taxes coming up; the first part of every year can be financially stressful.
