Flying on Christmas day to save time & money in KOTA Territory

Posted:

Getting home in time for Christmas can be a hassle sometimes with crowded airports and high ticket prices. But some people try to avoid that by traveling on Christmas day.

Travelers say they could save some money and some heartache.

Norm Sedig says that after visiting his brother in Rapid City, he is off to New Orleans for vacation, so he decided to fly on Christmas. "Well the cost are less and it's not as crowded the airport and those are the reasons I guess," said Sedig.

Abbie Waitman flew to Rapid City to visit family and is now on her way home. She says she hopes the flight home will be smoother than the flight here. "We chose to travel on Christmas hoping Christmas day would be a little less busy then a normal traveling day," said Waitman. "On our way up here it was really busy so we're hoping for smooth flight today."

About twenty flights were in and out of the rapid city regional airport Wednesday.
