Johnson is hopeful for Farm Bill in January

A Farm Bill is in sight, U.S. Senator Tim Johnson said Monday.   He talked to the media in Sioux Falls.

He said he's hoping the Farm Bill is one of the first things Congress addresses in January - but he wishes it'd been done much sooner.

"Livestock producers hit by the October blizzard are trying to recover from the devastating storm and they can't wait any longer for a Farm Bill," Johnson said.

Beside ranchers seeking disaster assistance, farmers looking ahead to spring planting need a Farm Bill, he said.
