The Saturday before Christmas is known as Super Saturday, one of the busiest shopping days of the year.
This Super Saturday last minute shoppers ventured out in the cold to check off every name off their Christmas list. "Yeah it's pretty busy everywhere we've been," said shopper Marlene Lujan. "We didn't have all of our Christmas shopping done, so we're running around doing our last minute shopping and trying to get it all done in just a few days."
Lujan came to Rapid City from Gillette to do her Christmas shopping, but she has a long way to go. "Gordman's, Menards, J.C. Penny, we still have quite a bit so yeah we pretty busy today."
Brad Dye, Cabela's general manager, says the store tries to help out last minute shoppers. "I think people procrastinate a little bit, its always that last minute rush to try to get everything done," said Dye. "We have door busters in the morning that get the lines going early, and pretty much until midnight tonight to allow any customers to come in and shop with us."
Not everyone was feeling the pressure just days before the 25th. "I don't think we really wait because we still have Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. I think giving us three days," said Kalynn Scoula, a shopper. "This isn't quite last minute we're pretty close."
Cabela's will be open until midnight Saturday night.
