The Campbell County Boys and Girls Club is one step closer to moving into a much needed bigger facility.
Wyoming's School Facilities Commission gave conditional approval to the transfer of the old Lakeview Elementary building from the local school district to the City of Gillette, which would let the Boys and Girls Club use the building.
The club is still waiting on approval for a nearly $1 million Wyoming Business Council grant, which could come in April.
Club leaders say moving into a building that covers 30,000 more square feet than the current facility will help them better serve the kids.
"We can expand our programs, expand membership, we can expand our preschool, because we also have a preschool," said Boys and Girls Club board chair Cathy Brand.
Club leaders expect to move into Lakeview before next fall.
