Bond reduction denied for alleged kidnapper

A KOTA Territory man charged with kidnapping will not get a bond reduction. Virgil Bald Eagle, 37, is charged with kidnapping for allegedly holding his wife and friend against their will in a Rapid City apartment.

Tuesday morning his attorney argued for a reduction to his $150,000 bond. The state opposed it, stating that Bald Eagle has a violent history with the same victim as well as pending drug charges.

Seventh Circuit Judge Robert Gusinsky denied the bond reduction.

A trial date is set for Mar. 5 and 6.
