With his busy schedule, Santa found time to visit children in the hospital and give them an early Christmas gift.
The Rushmore Mall teamed up with the Miracle Network and on Friday morning Santa delivered toys to children in the Pediatrics Unit at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Children of all ages received toys that were purchased through the Santa Fund, which is a special Rapid City Regional Hospital Foundation fund. Those involved said this means a lot to the kids and their families.
"being hospitalized isn't a fun time for a child. So we try to bring a little bit of comfort and a little bit of smiles to them," said Betty Quasney, Project Coordinator at the Rapid City Regional Hospital Foundation.
"Santa gets paid in smiles so that's our big thing. Everybody wants to be home for Christmas. Unfortunately there are some children that can't be so this is just a way to help them make it through this season," said Santa.
The fund also pays for gifts at other times during the year for children at the hospital.
