Posted:

A Rapid City man was arrested Monday after he was discovered in the ceiling of the Family Thrift Center (FTC) on West Omaha Street.

According to police spokesperson Tarah Heupel, 37-year-old Chad Dell  had locked himself in the bathroom, removed a ceiling tile and crawled up in the ceiling to hide.

A police officer initially tried to stop Dell when he was leaving the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center parking lot. He was followed to the FTC parking lot where he fled on foot.

Dell was arrested for obstructing police and a warrant.
