A $200,000 grant will be used to help promote the arts in Rapid City. The Future of Arts Collaborative, which is an initiative of the John T. Vucurevich Foundation, received a community innovation grant from a Minneapolis foundation.
Money from the grant will help develop and promote a website for information about art activities in Rapid City. People will be able to find information and buy tickets on the website.
Those involved with the project say Rapid City has a rich potential in the arts and people will now realize that.
"I'm excited about creating an opportunity for arts organizations to connect more broadly and deeply with the Rapid City community," said Anna Huntington, Community Arts Coordinator with Destination Rapid City.
The goal is to launch the website in September of 2014.
