Rapid City Highway Patrol office will move to new building

Posted:

Soon Highway Patrol officers in Rapid City will be housed in a new building. Governor Daugaard set aside $1.4 million for the new facility.

Right now Highway Patrol shares space with driver licensing. Terry Woster of Highway Patrol says it was getting crowded.Tthe new building will be next to the Department of Transportation, and Woster says it's convenient because they work very closely with the DOT.

Right now there is no timeline for the project. The next step is for funding to be approved by the legislature.
