Some in Rapid City welcome the snow and cold

South Dakota Highway Patrol Troopers were swamped Tuesday morning helping motorists who slid into the ditch on interstate 90. They responded to 10 accidents, 5 of those were injury accidents near Rapid City. Five cars also slid off I-90 Tuesday morning. Police Officers in Rapid City responded to 10 accidents.

While this bout of winter weather is certainly causing problems for some motorists, it's not all bad.  For many locals, the gentle snowfall and even shoveling is a welcome treat. "It gets us in the mood for the holiday season," Anne Meisner of Rapid City said.

Meteorologist Justin Fanfarilli says the cold weather is here to stay ... at least for another week.
