Black Hawk man admits to assaulting trooper

In a deal with the State, a Black Hawk man pleads guilty to assaulting a trooper. On Monday morning, Marcus Onken, 23, admitted to throwing a cellphone at a state trooper last March.

Because of the deal with the state other assault charges against Onken have been dropped. Prosecutors say the trooper suffered a serious injury to his eye and he could still face blindness.

Onken previously spent time in jail on a separate incident for felony assault on a police officer. Onken will be sentenced on January 13th.
