A Rapid City store had to close due to storm damage from the October blizzard. On Friday, it reopened just in time for the holiday shopping season.
Knecht Home Center is now officially open. During the storm the roof collapsed causing water damage. The store lost more than $400,000 in inventory.
Now the damage is fixed, employees are back at work, and customers are shopping. General Manager, Bryan Rice, says he is thankful for the community's support and he's glad this location is up and running again.
"In the last six, seven weeks we've just been pouring in the coals and getting the store rebuilt. Getting the roof fixed, the water out, now it's time to come back home," said Rice.
While the store is open, there is still some construction going on. Rice says everything will be done in two weeks.
