Food pantries all over KOTA Territory are in dire need of donations this holiday season.
Hunger is a year round problem, but people are more aware of it during the holidays. Donations have been coming at Feeding South Dakota, but they are in need of more fresh produce.
Many people are participating in KOTA Care & share events, by either donating food or money. For every dollar donated Feeding South Dakota is able to provide five meals for needy families.
"A lot of businesses and places like that are doing their food drives they just call and we got our barrels out at the grocery stores and we're starting to get stuff in," said Monica Leitheiser, with Feeding South Dakota.
Donation barrels for the KOTA Care & Share Food Drive are at various locations throughout KOTA Territory.
