1 Sturgis teen dead, 1 Whitewood teen injured in rollover accident

A Sturgis teen died in a one-vehicle crash on a Bear Butte Lake access road on Wednesday, Nov. 13.

 

Brandon Lee Delzer, 14, was driving a 2003 Ford F150 pickup north on the access road on the east side of the lake. The vehicle left the roadway to the right, came back onto the roadway, then left it to the right again and rolled.

 

Delzer was dead at the scene. A passenger, Cullen Lynn Olson, 14, of Whitewood, S.D., suffered serious injuries. Neither was wearing a seatbelt.

 

No further information is immediately available.

 

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. Meade County Sheriff's Office, Sturgis Fire Department, Sturgis Ambulance and South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks assisted.
