Rapid City police search for kidnapping, burglary suspect


Rapid City Police are searching for Joshua Peacock, age 28 of Rapid City, in connection with two burglaries and a kidnapping.


Around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, police were called to 202 E. Van Buren for a burglary. The male resident arrived home and found his door had been kicked in. The male suspect was hiding inside, and fled with the victim's laptop.


Around 5:45 p.m. on Friday, police were called to a report of a burglary and kidnapping at 214 E. Van Buren. When the female resident arrived home, the suspect was inside. He forced her to drive to Walmart, in order to get him cash. When they arrived at Walmart, the victim was able to go inside and call for help. The suspect fled from the vehicle.


Police located the stolen laptop from 202 E. Van Buren inside the residence at 214 E. Van Buren. The suspect in both incidents has been identified as Joshua Peacock, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.


If located, the public should not approach him. Anyone with information on Peacock's location is urged to call Detective Steve Neavill at 394-4134 or send an anonymous tip by texting ‘RCPD' and the information to 847411.
