The Pennington County Board of Commissioners was presented with the threat assessment for the new County Administration Building Tuesday morning.
The assessment reveals the possible need for an armed security guard during business hours at the new Administration Building.
The company that did the assessment says there is no better way to handle threats than to have an armed guard.
City employees expressed their desire for the guard based on threats they receive from disgruntled citizens.
The board voted to go- ahead and allow for construction of a security booth, but whether that position would be filled with a salaried worker or a volunteer will be decided at a later date.
