The search for a new libraries director is over. The Rapid City Public Libraries are expecting a positive change with their new director.
The Rapid City Public Libraries are in a transition. The facilities have experienced an increase in library traffic, violence and a need to increase security. But now the libraries will have some new leadership.
Rod Pettigrew of the Rapid City Public Libraries Board of Trustees announced that the libraries have hired a new director. He says their new library director James McShane will be a good change for the public libraries.
Pettigrew said "we were searching for someone who would bring us new ideas, possibly a new direction and just new leadership that we believe the library could use at this time"
McShane has thirty years of public library experience and he has a Masters in Library Science.
