Feeding South Dakota statewide campaign to feed more people

Posted:

A hunger relief organization in South Dakota announces a statewide capital campaign that will begin in Rapid City.

Feeding South Dakota kicks off the campaign with a $500,000 matching gift from the John T. Vucurevich Foundation. Feeding South Dakota will have to match the donation by the end of the year.

The purpose of the $6 million capital campaign is to raise money to reach their goal of providing 16 million meals by 2020.

"We're very gracious for the generous support of the John T. Vucurevich Foundation and them really kicking off this campaign. They understand that hunger relief is a critical need in our state," said Lauren Forsch, of Feeding South Dakota.

"Feeding South Dakota is a critical resource in our community to providing quality food products for people in need," said Sandy Diegel, Executive Director of the John T. Vucurevich Foundation.

Last year Feeding South Dakota provided 10.4 million meals to hungry people across the state. If you are interested in donating, visit the Feeding South Dakota website.
