Chandler pleads not guilty to all charges stemming from September police chase


A Rapid City man shot by police following a multiple county high speed chase appeared in court Thursday.

27 year old William Chandler pled not guilty to multiple charges including 3 counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, 2 counts of grand theft, first degree escape and aggravated eluding.

The state is charging him as a habitual offender, due to two prior convictions for eluding police in 2007.

If convicted on all of the charges, chandler could face up to 150 years in prison.

Chandler is being held at the Pennington County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
