Revenue continues to slip through Deadwood casino owners' hands, and that means a drop in state taxes collected. The good news? The state's take in September was only off just $13,542 when compared with the year before.
Still, the troubling trend of dwindling gaming revenue continues, from the amount of money that gamblers plunk into machines to the revenue casino owners pull in.
Players wagered $106,816,379 this September; a drop of 1 percent when compared to the money gambled in September 2012.
Slot machine play was steady, so gross revenue was off just 1.27 percent when compared September to September. Gross revenues last month were $10,137,144; down from September 2012 revenues of $10,267,957. Year-to-date gross revenue is down 1.46 percent, which is a little bit of a gain when compared to the industry being down 1.49 percent at the end of August.
As to the state's take … last month it was $879,874.
