Gas leak on Jackson Blvd. - KOTA Territory News

Gas leak on Jackson Blvd fixed

A construction crew working on the Jackson Boulevard project ruptured a four-inch natural gas line Wednesday.

A Rapid City fire crew monitored the leak while the construction crews dug into the ground. First the crews worked to crimp the line to reduce the flow, which you could tell worked when the escaping gas wasn't as loud. Then the crews worked to locate a shutoff valve.

The crews were successful in shutting down the gas line.
