The man accused of leading sheriff's deputies on a chase through Rapid City, crashing his vehicle and killing his passenger on October 11th, was formally charged Monday morning.
Jimmy Pilcher, 36, is still in the hospital as a result of injuries he received from the crash, but he is reportedly misbehaving. He was charged with DUI, aggravated eluding, manslaughter and vehicular homicide.
Deputies began pursuing Pilcher after a report that he was driving erratically. The pursuit ended when Pilcher ran a red light and hit three other vehicles. Pilcher's passenger Tamara Hunter, 40, of Kyle died at the scene.
The drivers of the other vehicles involved, and one passenger were treated for non-life threatening injuries. The Sheriff's Office is guarding Pilcher until he is released from the hospital and can be transported to jail.
