Spearfish TMone employees in new location

Posted:

After the October blizzard destroyed the Spearfish TMone building employees of the call center are up and running in a temporary home.

Bryan Walker, executive director of Spearfish economic development, says TMone employees are working out of Spearfish's Rec Center.

He says the first goal after learning of the damage was to find a new location. Now that one has been found, reconstruction is the main focus. Currently, Walker says TMone and the city are waiting to hear from the insurance agency.

Walker says getting TMone back open was an important project. "There's a direct economic impact of about $5.6 million with those employees working and living in this area, so that's obviously significant to Spearfish, it's significant to the entire northern hills economy," said Walker.

Because there isn't any word yet from the insurance agency, Walker says he is not sure whether the building is a complete loss or if anything can be salvaged.
