Ag lender offers help after massive livestock loss in KOTA Territory

Ranchers and farmers recovering from the massive livestock loss have some financial options. Farm Credit Services of America is hard at work helping ranchers and farmers who lost cattle during the storm. The huge cattle loss has put many people in a tough financial situation.

The agricultural lender says they will work with those who lost their livestock by deferring loan payments and helping their clients with future planning.

Vice President Doug Theel says the recovery from this loss will take awhile, but they are there to help. "We'll do what we can in spreading out payments, hopefully be able to help people who can afford to restock cattle. This isn't a thing that's going to heal up from one year from now. It's going to take them awhile to get over these types of loses" Theel said.

Theel hopes that if the farm bill passes, the federal assistance will help farmers and ranchers make their loan payments.
