Senator Thune surveys neighborhood damage in Rapid City

Donning a hard hat, United States Senator John Thune (R- South Dakota) got into the thick of the damage Thursday to see exactly what Black Hills Power crews have faced during the massive 'storm clean–up'.

Near Sheridan Lake Road, trees and branches are piled up in the backyard of several people's homes. Black Hills Power crews are working on both the debris and the power lines.

Thune talked to Black Hills Power crews and a woman who lives in one of the affected houses, who was doing all she could to help with the debris.

Three drop- off sites are open for the public in Rapid City to dump tree debris.

Those are:
· FFitzgerald Stadium.
· The over-flow parking at the Civic Center (across from the Club for Boys).
· The Fairgrounds.

It is recommended to try other sites first, as the Fitzgerald site is getting full.
