A massive sculpture project in downtown Rapid City is officially a few steps closer to being complete.
Thursday, Japanese sculptor Masayuki Nagase and representatives from "Destination Rapid City" unveiled the three newest granite sculptures at Main Street Square.
This brings the number of finished pieces to five.
The newest additions are part of the badlands theme the square is using on the south side.
Nagase says that he has enjoyed working on the project and looks forward following through with his vision, "I really enjoy finding these pieces in very nice material so I can proceed with my plan".
The $2 million dollar project is expected to take up to 5 years and when complete, will feature a total of 21 pieces.
