With damaged property, people in KOTA Territory are seeing the expensive aftermath of the October blizzard.
Cars, houses and businesses were wrecked in the storm. Heavy snow caused roofs to cave in. Fallen trees also caused damage.
Insurance agents say it is important to file your claims right away, but there are measures you can take in the meantime.
"So if you've got trees or branches laying on your roof go ahead and try to get them removed. Hold on to your receipts because you may be able to be reimbursed from your insurance company," said Dave Raml of State Farm.
RAml said the most common damage he has seen so far is from trees falling onto cars and houses. Incidentally, damaged trees are not covered by insurance.
