Humane Society locating and housing escaped dogs

The Black Hills Humane Society is currently locating and housing dogs that got out of their back yards during the blizzard. The high snow piles gave many dogs a means to escape their enclosures, now some of the escapees are at the Black Hills Humane Society.

They have found about 22 dogs since the storm and just nine have been claimed.   With the phone lines down people missing their pet should go down to the reclamation center at the humane society and see if their dog was found.

Kent Brown of the humane society says they are doing the best they can dealing with the increase in numbers of dogs."We are going to move some of the animals to the adopt side so we have some more room in stray. We are using some of the side rooms as well that we normal wouldn't use but we are going to get through it one way or another we always do" Brown said.

If you're not missing a pet but you would like to help the Black Hills Humane Society they are accepting donations of canned cat and dog food.
